Grace for the Years Behind Us

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,

for His mercies never fail.

They are new every morning;

great is Your faithfulness.”

There are moments in life when we look back and quietly wonder…

“If I could have done that differently, I would have.”

Especially in the years of raising a family.

We do our best with what we know at the time—

with the energy we have,

with the understanding we’ve gained so far.

And yet, with time comes perspective.

We see more clearly.

We understand more deeply.

We recognize the moments where we might have listened longer,

spoken more gently,

or simply paused instead of reacting.

Not out of regret…

but out of growth.

And this is where grace meets us.

Not to remind us of what we didn’t do—

but to gently remind us that we were learning all along.

God does not ask us to be perfect in our journey.

He meets us in it.

And His mercies are new every morning.

May you find peace today in knowing that your love was real, your efforts mattered, and that grace covers every season—both the ones ahead and the ones behind.
