Peace & Rest at the Table
There is a season in life when you begin to understand just how precious peace really is.
For many years, life was full and busy — family schedules, responsibilities, noise, and the steady rhythm of showing up wherever we were needed. Those years were meaningful and important in their own way.
But in this season of my life, I have come to treasure something quieter.
I have come to value the gentle peace of home.
Not because I don’t love people — I do. And not because gathering isn’t still sweet — it is. But I have learned that God sometimes leads us into seasons where rest becomes part of our healing.
These days, I find a deep comfort in the simple things:
• the soft light in the kitchen window
• the quiet hum of the house in the evening
• a warm meal shared at our own table
• the calm that settles in when the doors are closed and the day is done
Home has become the place where my heart exhales.
Scripture reminds us:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28
What I am learning — slowly and gratefully — is that rest is not something to feel guilty about. It is a gift.
In this season, I am especially thankful for the peace God has placed within these walls… and for the quiet ways He continues to restore our hearts at the table.
May your home be a place of deep breath and gentle rest this week. ![]()
